Kansas City Symphony "Baroque at 7" series: The Brandenburg Finale
The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108
I'm thrilled to be harpsichord soloist in Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5!
From the KC Symphony's website:
Jeannette Sorrell, harpsichord; Jan Kraybill, harpsichord
J.S. BACH: Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 J.S. BACH: Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 J.S. BACH: Brandenburg Concerto No. 6
Complete the six-concerto Brandenburg journey with the final concert of Baroque at 7:00 featuring concertos 4, 5 and 6. Concerto No. 5 has a solo for the harpsichord that shows off the qualities of the instrument and the performer — Bach may have written it as a showpiece for himself to play. Internationally acclaimed harpsichord virtuoso (and conductor of our Mozart and Haydn classical series concert) Jeanette Sorrell leads the ensemble from the keyboard and KCS favorite Jan Kraybill plays the solo in No. 5. Don’t miss the all-Bach conclusion of our Baroque at 7:00 series!
