French Organ Music Festival X

 —  —

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W 12th St, Kansas City, MO 64105

I'm honored to once again be invited to play the closing segment of this annual celebration of the glorious music of French composers, in the Festival's tenth anniversary year. Kansas City's Mayor Quinton Lucas has declared August 28, 2022 as French Organ Music Festival Day!

Visit https://www.kcago.com/french-fest for all of the program details, and join me in the audience either online or in person for the entire afternoon, beginning at 2pm. Admission is FREE (donations will be gratefully accepted, online or in person). You'll hear delightful French music for organ, choir, and even cello, in the beautiful "gold dome" Cathedral's setting. A video screen will allow you to see close-up views of organists' hands and feet in action.

My segment will begin at 4:30pm. Planned repertoire:

JEHAN ALAIN (1911-1940): Postlude for Compline

CHARLES-MARIE WIDOR (1844-1937): Intermezzo from Symphony No. 6 for Organ

MAURICE DURUFLÉ (1902-1986): Prelude and Fugue on the Name ALAIN
