I'm excited to collaborate with the choral ensemble Te Deum, conducted by its founder, executive and artistic director Matthew Christopher Shepard, in the closing concert of their 13th season, exploring a broad range of repertoire for organ and choir and the theme we mirror in life as we anticipate the end of the pandemic: hope.
Experience the Advent hope for better days in Gabriel Jackson's setting of "Creator of the Stars of Night." Imagine the soaring architecture of Westminster Cathedral as you enjoy Benjamin Britten's "Missa Brevis in D." Encounter awe through the stirring plainchant of Duruflé's "Messe Cum Jubilo." Journey with Jeremiah's lament in Rosephanye Powell's "The Cry of Jeremiah," which draws from Baroque, Jazz, and African influences to run the gamut of familiar emotions: anguish, betrayal, disillusionment, before ending -- as our concert begins -- with hope.
