French Organ Music Festival VIII

 —  —

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W 12th St, Kansas City, MO 64105

Due to COVID, and to the quick pivot of the staff and volunteers involved, this event is being offered for BOTH in-person and online viewing. See the website below for more information.

I am so pleased to again perform the closing segment of this eighth annual festival celebrating French organ music.  Come hear KC-area musicians as we play gorgeous French organ music in this beautiful venue throughout the afternoon!  It's a come-and-go event, so "come when you can, leave when you must."

My segment begins at approximately 4:30pm, and I'll play the three glorious Preludes and Fugues, Op. 7, by the French virtuoso organist-composer Marcel Dupré (1886-1971). Each of these pieces was dedicated to a fellow Parisian organist, brilliant and talented humans taken from this world too soon due to war, personal tragedy, and the 1918 flu pandemic. It is my hope that these pieces, written to honor the memory of Dupré's friends, will provide both comfort and inspiration to you in our current challenging times.
