I am so pleased to return to perform for the second time on the annual East Texas Pipe Organ Festival. This unique event honors the life and work of Roy Perry (1906-1978) and features Aeolian-Skinner pipe organs in the East Texas area designed and tonally finished by Perry and the Williams Family of New Orleans. This year I'm excited to be playing Aeolian-Skinner's Opus 1308 at St. Mark's Cathedral, Shreveport, Louisiana -- an instrument built just prior to the same company's Opus 1309 at The Auditorium Organ in Independence, one of the three large pipe organs I care for in Kansas City. For more information on the Festival, visit www.easttexaspipeorganfestival.com. Many Festival events, including this concert, are free and open to the public. Planned repertoire includes: PYOTR ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY (1840-1893), transcr. George J. Bennett: Coronation March ROBERT SCHUMANN (1810-1856): Fugue No. 1 from Sechs Fugen über den Namen BACH, Op. 60 MILOŠ SOKOLA (1913-1976): Passacaglia quasi Toccata on B-A-C-H MARY BETH BENNETT (b. 1954): Hommage à Langlais: Song of Peace in a Time of War LOUIS VIERNE (1870-1937): Symphonie No. 4 in G minor, Op. 32
